If the directory of links page is to proceed, it should also include a short paragraph indicating other avenues to find information. This is in response to the research derived from the focus group conducted by Jodie Turner about the redesign of the website, which suggested that within the new website there should be no ‘dead ends’. That is that there should always be another option available if the particular request of the user cannot be located.  For example:



Can’t Find the Information you’re looking for?
If the information you were searching for was not included on one of these websites, don’t give up yet. Other information can be found on local notice boards, at your library (or their website), local newspapers, through local government directories or Google. If Google is not returning the information you’re looking for, try broadening your request to find key websites that you can then navigate to find your required information or conversely if your search is too broad, narrow your search with more information such as by area or organisation. Additionally friends, family and neighbours may also be a source of information.
