Homelessness and Housing Support Services

Catholic Community Services provides a variety of Housing Support Services that aim to meet the needs of individuals who are experiencing housing associated concerns or are currently, or are at risk of experiencing homelessness due to a variety of risk factors.

 

We recognise the importance of having a secure, safe and comfortable home; and work alongside individuals in a supportive and empowering way to ensure that those who are having difficulty accessing both accommodation and support are provided with the appropriate level of assistance.

Winter Appeal – You Make the Difference!

That quality comes in many varieties for the clients of catholic community services day centres, be they elderly people who are frail or have dementia, or younger people with early onset dementia. One thing that they all have in common is that they are now dependant on our support.

From providing essential respite relief for carers and clients, to the fun of day to day activities, the day centre are putting smiles on the faces of our clients and their families. Sadly, many of the day to day expenses of the centres activities that bring so much pleasure are not funded by government and whilst some clients pay a fixed fee for services, catholic community services day centres need to make up the shortfall or simply not provide these valuable services.

Catholic Community Services Choir – The Ageless Angels

Did we have grants? –no! We started with $189.00 dollars, a donation from staff!

 

The community choir came together in March 2009 with one thing in common - a love of music. We range in age from early thirties to late eighties and we have come from across Catholic Community Services in the Metro North Sydney region.

We give our members increased opportunities to socialise and promote valued social roles for our clients and their families We encourage the learning (or re-learning) of musical skills and support our client group to be involved with their community.

We draw on their strengths, knowledge and expertise they no longer feel or know they have.

And of course, we have lots of fun!!

The choir runs 100% by donation – all money raised from your donations will go towards music and transport costs to practise sessions and performances.
