"For some individuals it is just that they need minimal support every now and then to maintain tenancy such as support to pay rent and utilities and that support will need to be ongoing. For others, the support can be much more significant with liaison with housing providers due to at risk tenancy, support at tribunal due to performance orders and problems with neighbours and inability to care for the property resulting in severe domestic squalor.
Many clients have a history of recurrent homelessness and it is about enabling them to identify and break the pattern of whatever it was that contributed to that experience in the past. It may be support to access appropriate mental health or drug and alcohol services, or assistance to reconnect with the community after being street homeless for a long period of time. It is amazing to see how having safe and secure tenancy impacts on all other aspects of a person's life!"
