Balancing Work and Care

Program Name: Balancing Work & Care Program (NRCP)


Program Description:
Auspiced by Northside Community Forum (referrals to NCF ON 1800 052 222), Catholic Community Services provides assistance to working carers in the Northern Sydney Region.  Carers can expect ongoing support from a Coordinator who can provide information; referrals to allied services; and general support as and when required. Service is up to 5 hours per week and has a flexible and person-centred approach to delivery of services to the family member requiring assistance.


Service types available under this program:

 

  • Case Management
  • Meal preparation
  • Some light domestic assistance such as tidying up but is not intended to be a substitute for a program which provides this service
  • Transport to/from medical appointments; social support and companionship for five hours per week.

Eligibility Criteria:  Primary carer providing regular care on unpaid basis; living and caring in the Northern Sydney region; Caring for a person is: frail aged or has dementia, aged 65 or over (50 and over if Indigenous); employed or having difficulty maintaining or securing employment because of demands of their caring role.

Cost to Clients: $10.00 contribution per hour
