Commonwealth Carelink and Respite Centre TeamCarelink (DoHA Funded) provides free  Information, Referral and Pathways on aged care, disability, mental health and other support services available in the community. Carelink Centres have a local knowledge about:

 

  • Services available and how to contact them;
  • Who is eligible to receive services;
  • Associated costs;
  • Guided referrals.


Carer Respite is a part of the National Respite for Carers Program, coordinating access to respite services for Carers to take a break from their caring role or in times of crisis and emergency.
Centres can:

 

  • Help with emergency respite;
  • Assist book Residential Respite and manage beds in some facilities;
  • Look at alternative options for respite away from traditional forms;
  • Refer onto other services;
  • Advocate for service on behalf of Carers.

 

The Respite Centre manages five carer respite programs funded by DOHA and FaHCSIA:


Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA- NRCP)


  • Carer Respite
  • Carers of Young People with a Severe and Profound Disability
  • Consumer Directed Respite Care


Families and Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA)


  • Mental Health Respite
  • Young Carers
