Brief Description of Program/Centre:

The Waitara Wellness Centre operates from Monday to Friday, 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.  The centre provides socialisation opportunities to frail and elderly people in the community.  Support is provided to clients to remain as active participants in community life. To provide these opportunities clients are able to access a range of social activities and hobbies such as group excursions, book club, bingo, board games, gardening club and art groups.  

The centre also focuses on health and wellbeing by providing a daily exercise program, podiatry and access to the Heart Moves and Falls Prevention programs.  A physiotherapist is also available for treatment.  Diversional, occupational  and massage therapies are also available to assist clients remain active, healthy and well-nourished.

Transport is provided by a group bus with our very experienced and caring drivers.  Clients arrive to a welcoming cup of tea at the café followed by group exercises and a variety of group and person centre activities.  A hot nourishing lunch is included in the cost.

The centre provides much needed respite to carers from their caring role while care recipients attend the centre. Experienced staff are also available to assist clients and carers with information and access to other services provided by Catholic Community Services whilst at the centre.

Cost to Clients: $15.00 per day = $5.00 per day (transport)
