Respite - Centre BasedService Type: Respite Centre Based
Respite services provided at a centre.
The centres provide socialisation opportunities to frail, elderly and people with dementia in the community. Support is provided to clients to remain as active participants in community life. To provide these opportunities clients are able to access a range of social activities and hobbies .
The centres also focus on health and wellbeing by providing daily exercise programs and access to allied health needs such as diversional therapy, meal service, occupational therapy, access to podiatry, hairdressing and physiotherapy. All centres provide well balanced and nourishing meals.
Coordinators ensure client care planning meets our clients needs providing person-centred activities within the enabling philosophy of care. It is important that we offer a service that provides meaningful, creative and intellectually challenging activities to ensure that our clients have a great day.
All centres are staffed by a qualified coordinator and experienced centre-based community workers.
Transport is provided (in most cases) by a group bus or cars with our very experienced and caring drivers.
The centres provide much needed respite to carers from their caring role while care recipients attend the centres. Experienced staff are also available to assist clients and carers with information and access to other services provided by Catholic Community Services whilst at the centre.
